Ukraine's 2024 grain harvest at 25 mln T so far, ministry says
KYIV, Aug 2 (Reuters) -Ukraine had harvested about 25 million metric tons of grain by Aug. 2, the farm ministry said on Friday.
Farmers had threshed 19.4 million tons of wheat from 4.5 million hectares, the ministry said.
They also harvested 4.82 million tons of barley and 451,600 tons of peas.
The ministry said 3.24 million tons of rapeseed had also been threshed.
Last month the ministry raised its forecast for the 2024 grain harvest to 56 million tons from 52.4 million tons. Together with oilseeds, the crop could total 77 million tons, it said.
However, state weather forecasters and producers have reported there could be a 20-30% decline in the harvest of late crops in central, southern and eastern regions because of extreme heat.
