May 2 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.4%.

* STANDARD CHARTERED: Standard Chartered STAN.L posted a 5.5% rise in its first-quarter pretax profit, beating estimates, as higher interest rates bolstered earnings at the emerging markets-focused lender.

* LSEG: London Stock Exchange Group LSEG.L said it has agreed to purchase shares worth 500 million pounds ($624 million) from a consortium of investors that sold data and analytics firm Refinitiv to the bourse operator.

* SHELL: Investor proxy advisory Glass Lewis recommended Shell SHEL.L shareholders vote against a resolution filed by a group of 27 investors urging the energy company to set tighter climate targets.

* HSBC: HSBC Holdings 0005.HK said it had kept its best lending rate in Hong Kong at 5.875%, after the city's de facto central bank kept unchanged the base rate charged through its overnight discount window.

* OIL: Oil prices rose, rebounding from three days of losses, on expectations the lower levels may prompt the U.S., the world's biggest crude consumer, to start replenishing its strategic reserve, putting a floor under prices.

* METALS: Prices of nonferrous metals in London rose as a softer dollar made greenback-priced metals cheaper to holders of other currencies.

* EX-DIVS: Relx REL.L and Glencore GLEN.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs on Thursday.

* FTSE: Britain's FTSE 100 slipped on Wednesday, led by declines in energy stocks, while investors grew cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy decision later in the day, hoping for hints on its interest rate path.
