May 17 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Friday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.1%.


* SAINSBURY'S: Britain's Sainsbury's SBRY.Lsaid it has agreed a five-year strategic partnership with Microsoft MSFT.O that will use the technology company's artificial intelligence capabilities and the supermarket group's rich data.

* GSK: GSK GSK.L has raised 1.25 billion pounds ($1.52 billion) from selling its entire remaining stake in consumer healthcare firm HaleonHLN.L, the British drugmaker said.

* LAND SECURITIES: British commercial property firm Land Securities Group LAND.L posted a narrower annual loss, driven by encouraging rental growth and occupancy levels, while elevated interest rates continue to weigh on the valuation of its buildings.

* HSBC: HSBC's HSBA.L, 0005.HK largest shareholder, China's Ping An Insurance 601318.SS, is mulling options to reduce its 8% stake in the Asia-focussed lender, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday citing people familiar with the matter.

* OIL: Oil prices gained with global benchmark Brent set for its first weekly increase in three weeks on signs of improving global demand amid stronger economic indicators from key consumers China and the United States.

* GOLD: Gold prices appeared set for a second consecutive weekly gain after recent U.S. inflation data fuelled expectations that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates this year.
