ISTANBUL, July 17 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 33.0675 against the U.S. dollar at 0401 GMT, weakening from a close of 33.0310 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.67% higher at 11,139.34 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Gold hit a record and bonds rallied on Wednesday as markets prepared for global interest rates to fall, while stocks in Taiwan slipped after U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump sounded lukewarm in his commitment to the island's defence.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will receive ambassadors of Bahrain, Guatemala, Bosnia and Serbia for letter of credence ceremony. (1100 GMT)
OPPOSITION
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Ozgur Ozel will chair a meeting of his party's executive committee. (1130 GMT)
AUSTERITY MEASURES
Parliament's general assembly will continue to discuss a proposed law on austerity measures in the public sector.
NIGER VISIT
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar will visit Niger.
PARLIAMENT MEETINGS
Right-wing IYI Party (0730 GMT) and Islamist Saadet (Felicity) Party (0615 GMT) will hold their parliamentary group meetings.
HOUSE SALES
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce house sales for June. (0700 GMT)
