ISTANBUL, Aug 26 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Monday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.0000 against the U.S. dollar at 0158 GMT, compared with a close of 34.0070 on Friday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 2.55% lower at 9,668.10 points on Friday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares crept cautiously higher on Monday, while the dollar and bond yields were on the wane ahead of inflation data that investors hope will pave the way for rate cuts in the United States and Europe.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will speak in Malazgirt in eastern Turkey at an event marking the anniversary of the Seljuk victory over the Byzantines in the 1071 Battle of Manzikert. (0800 GMT)

The Turkish central bank will announce the capacity utilisation rate for August. (0700 GMT)

ISBANK INTERVIEW ISCTR.IS
Turkish banks will pay the price throughout next year as challenges linger from the country's economic turnaround, the chief executive of lender Isbank said in an interview, adding he expects the central bank to begin cutting interest rates this November.
ISBANK ANNIVERSARY
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will attend the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Isbank. (1600 GMT)

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Sunday that efforts to mend ties with Turkey had so far brought no tangible results.
