ANKARA, Aug 21 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 33.9000 against the U.S. dollar at 0415 GMT, compared with a close of 33.8925 on Tuesday.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.72% lower at 9,982.28 points on Tuesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian shares slipped on Wednesday as a stellar rebound in world stocks paused for breath, while bond yields and the dollar fell ahead of U.S. economic data and speeches from policymakers that are expected to make the case for interest rate cuts.


TRADE MINISTER

Trade Minister Omer Bolat will attend an opening ceremony for a tubing factory in northern province of Zonguldak (0700 GMT).


TRANSPORT MINISTER

Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu will make a statement to press after visiting a road construction site in eastern province of Bitlis (0915 GMT).


CENBANK DECISION

Turkey's central bank held interest rates steady at 50% for a fifth straight month on Tuesday as expected, and repeated that it remains vigilant to inflation risks even as it expects disinflation to gain pace.


TREASURY-HELD SHARES

Turkey has transferred the shares of 12 companies held by its treasury, including three listed ones, to the Turkey Wealth Fund, according to a presidential decree published in the country's Official Gazette on Tuesday.
