FRANKFURT, July 11 (Reuters) -European prompt power prices trends were mixed on Thursday, rising in Germany on reduced solar power output expectations and falling in France on lower demand and more wind power availability.

German baseload for the day-ahead TRDEBD1 gained 1.9% to 90.8 euros ($98.46) per megawatt hour (MWh) by 0955 GMT, LSEG data showed.

The equivalent French day-ahead contract TRFRBD1 fell 27.0% to 55.5 euros.

In renewable supply, German solar power output is projected to fall sharply to 8.8 gigawatts (GW) on Friday, from 13.9 GW on Thursday, while wind power in both Germany and France will likely increase, LSEG data also showed.

Day-ahead wind power output in Germany was projected at 8.1 GW and at 4.1 GW in France from respectively 4.4 GW and 1.2 GW previously, the data showed.

On the demand side, Germany stands to see usage of 54.3 GW and France of 44 GW on Friday, down from respectively 54.5 GW and 45 GW.

German year-ahead power TRDEBYZ5 edged up 0.7% to 89.4 euros/MWh while the French 2025 baseload contract TRFRBYZ5 was down 0.7% at 74.5 euros/MWh.

European CO2 allowances for December 2024 CFI2Zc1 were up 0.8% at 68.47 euros a metric ton.

German gas storage group INES in a seasonal outlook said that normal winter weather in 2024/25 would leave national gas stocks at 40% on Feb 1, 2025, meeting legal requirements.

However, extreme cold could lead to a depletion and so it would be wise to be sparing with gas usage, it said.

Recent European wholesale gas price increases could encourage more utilities to switch to coal for electricity generation this coming winter, even as countries try to push the carbon-intense fuel out of the power mix.

Germany's E.ON and Volkswagen subsidiary MAN Truck & Bus unveiled plans to set up an electric charging network for trucks in Germany and Europe.
