South African Markets - Factors to watch on May 23
JOHANNESBURG, May 23 (Reuters) -The following scheduled economic event, company announcements, equity and currency market moves may affect South African markets on Thursday.
ECONOMIC EVENTS
South Africa's statistics agency to release General Household Survey 2023.
COMPANIES
South African gaming, hotels and entertainment group Tsogo Sun TSGJ.J posted a 2% fall in full-year adjusted core profit.
South African lender Investec INLJ.J on Thursday reported full-year profit up 9.1%.
SOUTH AFRICAN MARKETS
The South African rand fell against the dollar on Wednesday as traders awaited Federal Reserve meeting minutes for hints on the interest rate path of the world's biggest economy.
On the stock market, the Top-40 .JTOPI index closed down about 0.5%, while the broader all-share .JALSH index ended the day down 0.4%..JZAR/
GLOBAL MARKETS

Gold prices fell for a third straight session on Thursday after minutes from the most recent Federal Reserve meeting indicated that some officials were inclined to raise interest rates.GOL/
