** NXP recorded its worst quarterly revenue decline in four years in Q2, sending its shares down 9% to $258.06

** Stock hits lowest level since early May, and was set for its worst day since April 2020

** "The guidance was a little lower and that's in particular affecting the space that has exposure to auto," said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B Riley Wealth

** A combination of both - a nice little bounce yesterday and the guidance is coming into play this morning, Hogan says

** NXPI peers AnalogDevices ADI.O, ON Semiconductor ON.O and GlobalFoundries GFS.O fall over 3%, among the biggest Nasdaq 100 .NDX decliners

** The Philadelphia SE Semiconductor index .SOX logged its best day in more than a month on Monday with a 4% gain, and was off over 1.4% on Tuesday

** Shares of chipmakers Advanced Micro Devices AMD.O, Intel INTC.O and Qualcomm QCOM.Oamong others slipped about 1% each.

** Nvidia NVDA.O loses 1% in choppy trading

** The iShares Semiconductor ETF SOXX.O was down 1.5%,while the VanEck Semiconductor ETF SMH.O was off 1.1%

** The semiconductor index has added 29% YTD vs a nearly 17% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 .SPX
