MOSCOW, July 8 (Reuters) -Rosneft's ROSN.MM Black Sea oil refinery in Tuapse resumed operations on July 1 after being offline since a drone attack in mid-May, three industry sources familiar with the plant's work told Reuters.

According to the sources, the refinery processed about 90,000 metric tons of crude oil during the first three days of operations.

Rosneft did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

The Tuapse plant, which has processing capacity of 240,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil, was hit on May 17 by a drone and had been also struck by another drone in January.

Reuters sources said previously that the refinery's main primary refining unit was not damaged in the most recent attack, but the plant was not back online due to low profitability.

The plant produces naphtha, fuel oil, vacuum gasoil and high-sulphur diesel, supplying fuel mainly to Turkey, China, Malaysia and Singapore.

In 2023 the plant processed 9.322 million metric tons of crude oil, producing 3.306 million tons of gasoil and 3.123 million tons of fuel oil.
