TOKYO, Sept 12 (Reuters) -Japan's Nikkei share average rebounded in early trade on Thursday, as overnight gains on Wall Street and a softer yen boosted investor sentiment.

The Nikkei index .N225 was up 3.2% at 36,763.08, as of 0010 GMT, after a seven-session slide, while the broader Topix .TOPX rose 2.6%.

All three major U.S. stock indexes closed higher on Wednesday, helped by gains in the technology sector.

Technology shares were among the top gainers on the Nikkei after the Philadelphia SE Semiconductor Index .SOX surged overnight, with AI chipmaker Nvidia NVDA.O adding 8%. .N

A softer yen also helped. The dollar traded at 142.83 yen JPY=, up 0.34%. FRX/

The largest percentage gainer in the benchmark index was Advantest Corp 6857.T with a rise of 7.48%. Fujikura Ltd 5803.T gained 6.64% and Disco Corp 6146.T was up 6.63%.
