ISTAT releases April CPI final data (0800 GMT); March foreign trade data (0900 GMT).


DEBT

Foreign investors bought 76.9% of Italy's new green BTP bond, due October 2037, the Italian Treasury said on Wednesday. Around 350 investors took part in the transaction which attracted record orders for over 84 billion euros ($91.11 billion).


COMPANIES

The Italian gas grid operator on Thursday raised its guidance for core earning and net income for 2024 after reporting stronger-than-expected results in the first quarter.

The Italian utility could name a new CEO at its annual general meeting in June, replacing the current head Paolo Emilio Signorini who was arrested last week as part of a corruption investigation, Executive Chairman Luca Dal Fabbro said during a post-results call on Wednesday.

Italy's Treasury on Wednesday sold a 2.8% stake in the Italian energy group, pocketing around 1.4 billion euros in its drive to raise cash to bolster the country's creaking public finances.

Eni reduced net carbon emissions in the upstream sector by 40% and overall emissions by 30% last year compared with 2018 levels, the company said on Wednesday as it published its sustainability report.


TOD'S TOD.MI

Turnover at Italian luxury shoemaker fell by 4.7% at constant exchange rates in the first quarter to 258 million euros ($280 million), with its key brands hit by weakness in the Chinese market, the company said on Wednesday.


MONTE DEI PASCHI (MPS) BMPS.MI

Moody's upgraded the lender's ratings by one notch thanks to a strong capital position and capacity to generate profits, Monte Paschi said on Wednesday.


POSTE ITALIANE PST.MI

Operating profit at the state-owned postal service fell 8% in the first quarter despite slightly higher revenues, the company said on Wednesday, due to the sharp gains it pocketed a year ago when it sold some of its Italian government bonds.


ERG ERG.MI

The Italian energy company on Wednesday published a new 2024-2026 business plan, under which it pledges to pay a dividend of up to 1.3 euros ($1.41) and invest up to 1.2 billion euros.
