INTESA SANPAOLO ISP.MI

The domestic market share of the Italian largest bank is such that buying a rival in the country is "mission impossible", CEO Carlo Messina said on Tuesday, also ruling out major acquisitions abroad due to the lack of suitable targets.

Intesa on Tuesday raised its profit outlook, after posting stronger than expected quarterly earnings and signalling additional investor rewards ahead.


LEONARDO LDOF.MI

The aerospace and defence group is in talks with France's Airbus AIR.PA and Thales TCFP.PA over alliances in the space sector, the head of the Italian group said on Tuesday, confirming for the first time the ongoing discussions.

Orders, revenues and core profit kept rising by double figures at the Italian group in the first half of the year, as it pushed ahead with its strategy of expanding its role in European defence projects.


STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

(*) It has no intention of selling its luxury vehicle business Maserati or aggregating the unit with other Italian luxury groups, the Jeep maker said on Tuesday.

The carmaker said on Tuesday it was offering a new round of voluntary buyouts to its U.S. salaried workers.

The Italian spirits group warned on Tuesday that its ability to grow its gross margin this year would likely be impacted by "some temporary headwinds" after its first-half adjusted operating profit rose 2.1% organically.

The Italian oil company, along with rivals ExxonMobil, Aramco and Petronas, is considering a possible investment in the Blue Whale Project, an exploration project promoted by Korea National Oil Corporation (Knoc), MF daily reported on Wednesday.

The field is estimated to hold up to 14 billion barrels of oil, which could be worth more than $1 trillion, the paper added.

Italy's largest telecoms tower company said on Tuesday that its first-half net profit rose 9.4% to 179.1 million euros, while revenue rose 8.6% to 511.7 million euros. The company sees full-year revenues in the range of 1.030-1.060 billion euros, it added.
