POLITICS

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni discussed the war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East at a meeting in Beijing on Monday, Meloni's office said.

(*) Speaking to reporters, Meloni said China's economic support of the Russian war effort was a source of "great friction" and urged Israel not to fall into the "trap" of retaliation, expressing great concern for the crisis in Lebanon.

The group's board on Monday began examining final audit reports on former CEO Paolo Signorini, who was dismissed in June following his arrest as part of a corruption investigation related to a previous job.

"At the moment there are no material financial impacts; however, the company reserves the right to further investigate and take any action", Iren said in a statement.
