** Agrochemical co posted Q1 profit vs yr-ago loss
** Larger rival UPL UPLL.NS posted wider-than-expected loss, Bayer Cropscience's BAYE.NS profit dropped
** HERN has now surged nearly 21% YTD, overtaking BAYE's roughly 16% gain, while UPL has lost ~4% in 2024
