Aug 5 (Reuters) -More than 275,000homes and businesses in Florida were left without electricity as Hurricane Debby slammed into the state's Gulf Coast on Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

The utility with the most customers hit was Duke Energy DUK.N, which had about 89,000clients without power and said 3,000 out-of-state crews were assisting its Florida team with outage restoration.

The company also said that nearly 171,000 customers have been restored so far.

It was followed by Clay Electric Coop, with 36,300 customers cut off in the state.
