HEALTHY START AHEAD FOR EUROPEAN STOCKS

European stocks are heading for a buoyant start to Tuesday, with EuroSTOXX50 STXEc1 futures up 0.36% and DAX futures FDXc1 ticking 0.31% higher. FTSE futures FFIc1 meanwhile are flat.

Earlier in the day, Japan led Asian shares higher as the Nikkei .N225 rose more than 3% following a holiday on Monday. More evidence that last week's market chaos is fading away. MKTS/GLOB

Data out of the UK showed unemployment unexpectedly falling to 4.2%, its lowest level since February, but regular pay continued to swell, up 5.4% year-on-year in the three months to June.

Market players are awaiting U.S. PPI figures due later today.

In earnings, German chemicals distributor Brenntag BNRGn.DE has cut its 2024 outlook for 2024, while German meal-kit maker HelloFresh HFGG.DE reported better-than-expected second-quarter core earnings.

Elsewhere, Thyssenkrupp Nucera NCH2.DE has warned of a slowdown in growth in the hydrogen sector, and Swiss solar panel maker Meyer Burger MBTN.S will postpone the publication of its 2024 half-year results until Sept. 16 as it seeks financing.
