HARRIS HOLDS LEAD OVER TRUMP ON PREDICTIT BETTING PLATFORM

Vice President Kamala Harris is maintaining a lead over former President Donald Trump in some betting markets for the November U.S. presidential election, although her recent gains appear to have peaked on PredictIt.

With 84 days to go before the Nov. 5 vote, contracts for a Harris victory are trading at 58 cents, with a potential $1 payout, on the PredictIt politics betting platform.

Trump contracts are at 44 cents, down from as much as 69 cents in mid-July. Harris contracts peaked at 59 cents on Sunday and Monday.

Oddschecker.com has odds for a Harris election victory at -106, meaning risking $106 could win $100, translating to about a 51% probability. Trump odds are at +118, meaning a $118 bet could win $100, equivalent to about a 46% probability.

Polymarket, a decentralize predictions market, has Trump at a 46% probability and Harris at 52%.

The latest betting odds come after Republican candidate Trump sat Monday for a friendly two-hour interview with billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Musk's social media platform X.

The two men exchanged praise repeatedly, with the Tesla TSLA.O chief lauding Trump for his bravery during the attempt on his life last month, and Trump congratulating Musk for his willingness to fire workers demanding better conditions.
