Germany agrees phaseout of Huawei, ZTE components in 5G core network
BERLIN, July 11 (Reuters) -Germany's government has completed contracts with telecoms companies so that no components from China's Huawei HWT.UL or ZTE 000063.SZ can be used in 5G core networks after the end of 2026, the interior ministry said on Thursday.
The agreement, driven by security considerations, gives network operators Deutsche Telekom DTEGn.DE, Vodafone VOD.L and Telefonica Deutschland O2Dn.H, TEF.MC time to replace critical parts.
