LONDON, Sept 3 (Reuters) -Northwest European gasoline refining margins rose by about $2 to $9.69 a barrel on Tuesday as underlying crude prices weakened, though gains were limited by weaker exports.

  • Around 14,000 metric tons of Eurobob E10 barges traded in the Argus window. Gunvor and TotalEnergies sold to ExxonMobil and Mabanaft.

  • Another 6,000 tons of Eurobob E5 traded with Equinor, Shell, and Gunvor selling to Petroineos, Varo, and TotalEnergies.

  • Oil prices dropped more than 4% on Tuesday to their lowest levels in nearly nine months after reports that a deal was imminent to resolve a dispute that has halted Libyan production and exports.

  • A power outage in the Rotterdam port area in the Netherlands briefly interrupted operations at one of Europe's biggest oil refineries on Tuesday, the plant's operator BP BP.L said.

  • Electricity grid operator TenneT said the problem was solved shortly after 1000 GMT. It said that BP's 400,000 barrels per day oil refinery, Europe's second largest, was among the plants affected, together with smaller plants and the rail network in the region.

  • BP confirmed the power failure had impacted the plant, but later said it was resuming operations.

  • Gasoline exports from northwest Europe and the west Mediterranean reached around 2.9 million tons in August, compared with 3.35 million tons in July, and 3.59 million tons a year earlier, according to LSEG analyst Abdul Hadhi.

  • The drop in exports was due to weaker demand in the United States and West Africa and is expected to drop further in September due to lower seasonal demand and refinery maintenance, he said.

  • Nigeria's Dangote oil refinery on Tuesday began supplying gasoline into the Nigerian market, a move its owner Aliko Dangote said will end billions of dollars spent on imports.
