BUENOS AIRES, July 17 (Reuters) -Argentina's main agricultural regions will see cold temperatures subside in the coming days, although the possibility of snowfall continues amid scant precipitation, the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange said on Wednesday.

The country is in the first weeks of the Southern Hemisphere winter and forecasts indicate that tropical winds will blow in more forcefully than in previous weeks, the exchange reported.

This will lead to "above-normal temperature highs in the north of the agricultural area, normal in the center, and somewhat below-normal in the south," the report highlighted.

After the respite from the chill, however, the exchange anticipates a cold front known as the Pampero bringing scant precipitation across most of the agricultural area, "except for a few isolated pockets of moderate records."

Harvesting of the 2023/24 corn crop, estimated at 46.5 million tons, is wrapping up, while planting of an expected 6.3 million hectares of the 2024/25 crop is ongoing.

"Polar winds, which will accompany the passage of the front, will produce below-normal minimum temperatures in most of the agricultural area, though not as strongly as in previous weeks," added the exchange.
