Oct 3 (Reuters) -Basis bids for soybeans shipped by barge to the Gulf Coast turned higher amid signs of demand Thursday, while basis bids for corn loadings eased, traders said.

* River levels on the Ohio River appear to be holding steady throughout the mid-Ohio and falling slowly on the lower end, according to barge sources.

* Egypt has developed plans to slash wheat imports and spend less on subsidized bread by adding corn or sorghum as ingredients, five industry sources briefed on the plans told Reuters.

* The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported export sales of U.S. 2024/25 corn in the week ended Sept. 26 at 1,684,100 metric tons, well above a range of trade expectations for 600,000 to 1,000,000 tons. EXP/CORN

* The USDA also reported export sales of U.S. 2024/25 soybeans in the week ended Sept. 26 at 1,443,500 metric tons, in line with trade expectations for 1,000,000 to 1,600,000 tons. EXP/SOY

* At U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast ports, a dockworkers' strike that is halting shipments entered its third day, with no negotiations scheduled between the International Longshoremen's Association and employers.

* CIF September soybean barges traded at 79 cents over Chicago Board of Trade's November soybean SX24 futures, and at 85 cents over November futures.

* CIF October soybean barges were bid 8 cents higher at 75 cents over Chicago Board of Trade's November soybean SX24 futures.

* FOB soy export premiums were unquoted for October, but were steady for the first half of November at about 114 cents over futures. Last-half November offers also were steady, at about 114 cents over futures.

* For corn, CIF barges loaded in October were bid down 1 cent at 71 cents over CBOT December CZ24 futures.

* FOB Gulf corn export basis offers were unquoted for October, but were steady at about 110 cents over futures for first-half November shipment. Offers were also 110 cents over for last-half November shipment, steady from Wednesday.
