The Times

- American activist hedge fund Engine Capital managing member Arnaud Ajdler has called for the break-up or sale of C&C Group GCC.L, saying the drinks company is a "perennial underperformer" that suffers from a combination of "structural and self-inflicted" problems.


- A Labour government in the UK would be opposed to renationalising Thames Water, the troubled utility firm with a highly uncertain future. Jonathan Reynolds, the shadow business and trade secretary, said "people should not expect the state to bail out bad investments".



The Guardian

- Fast fashion retailer Shein confidentially filed papers with Britain's markets regulator in early June, according to two sources, kicking off the process for a potential London listing by the online fast-fashion retailer later in the year.


- Britain's National Health Service said that data published by a cyber crime group had been stolen from some of lab services company Synnovis' systems, in an update on the cyber attack involving several London hospitals.

- Britain's National Health Service has turned to US drugs giant Pfizer PFE.N over its British rival GSK GSK.L for vaccines against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), the winter infection known as the "silent killer" of the elderly.


- Lancaster Investment Management, a shareholder in British financial services company Hargreaves Lansdown HRGV.L, has expressed its "dismay" at a 5.4 billion pounds ($6.85 billion) private equity takeover bid for the fund supermarket in an open letter to chairman Alison Platt.



Sky News

- Prospective bidders for The Daily Telegraph have been told to submit indicative offers by July 19 if they want to take control of two of Britain's most influential newspaper titles.


- UK Labour will ramp up its efforts to achieve net zero with a dedicated team of officials working to eliminate carbon emissions if it wins the election.
