Anglo American falls on production suspension at Australian coal mine
** Shares of miner Anglo American AAL.L down 3.4% at 2,416.5p - top loser on FTSE 100 .FTSE index
** AAL suspended production at Grosvenor steelmaking coal mine in Queensland, Australia, following an underground coal gas ignition incident on June 29
** The Queensland site remains closed with procedures to assess a re-entry into the mine expected to take several months
** Co's steelmaking coal business sees to produce about 8 mln tonnes of product in H1 2024, of which Grosvenor to contribute about 2.3 mln tonnes
** AAL stock rose ~23% YTD
