POLITICS
Italy is failing its Roma minority by neglecting their housing rights, a monitoring body of the Council of Europe, the continent's main human rights watchdog, said on Monday, in response to a complaint filed by Amnesty International.

Europe's biggest gas distributor said on Monday it started exclusive talks to buy its smaller Italian rival 2i Rete Gas.
(*) Italgas reported on Tuesday a 10% growth in its first-quarter adjusted core earnings to 326 million euros ($352 million). Gross financial and bond debt at end-March totalled 7.2 billion euros from 6.9 billion euros at end-December.
