Asia Fuel Oil-VLSFO rally resumes, cracks breach five-month highs
SINGAPORE, Aug 22 (Reuters) -Asia's very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) market continued rallying higher on Thursday, with spot premiums extending gains and cracks surpassing five-month highs.
Bids firmed for September-loading VLSFO cargoes, with Singapore cash premium climbing above $10 per metric ton, while refining cracks climbed to levels last seen in early March.

Prompt backwardation widened further to more than $14.50 per ton, compared with $11.50 per ton the previous day, based on data from market sources.
Buying momentum was robust in the derivatives markets on Thursday, sources said.
Meanwhile, there were mixed views on the supply outlook. Some traders said that broader inflows remained ample, but added that some tightness could arise from the blendstocks pool.
INVENTORY DATA
- Singapore onshore inventories STKRS-SIN rose 6.0% to 19.23 million barrels in the week ended Aug. 21, after sliding to five-week lows previously, showed Enterprise Singapore data.
