US Cash Grains-Corn and soy basis mostly steady as futures rise
CHICAGO, July 19 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn and soy were mostly steady in the U.S. Midwest on Friday as futures ticked up slightly but farmer selling remained slow.
* The corn basis decreased by 1 cent at an Ohio elevator, and the soy basis increased by 3 cents at an Iowa river terminal.
* Another soy processor rolled its soy bid to the November contract.
* Expectations for strong U.S. corn and soy harvests, along with largely favorable weather, during the crops' crucial growing period are weighing on futures prices.
* The U.S. Department of Agriculture, in a daily reporting system, said exporters sold 105,000 metric tons of U.S. soymeal to unknown destinations for delivery in the 2024/2025 marketing year. On Thursday, USDA reported daily sales of U.S. soybeans and soymeal to unknown buyers.
