ECONOMY
Italy and France should cut spending faster than they currently plan to keep debt under control while Germany should loosen its own purse strings to revive growth, the International Monetary Fund said on Friday.
DEBT
S&P Global said on Friday it had confirmed its 'BBB' sovereign rating on Italy, with a stable outlook.
Treasury announces sale of 6-month BOT bills, with relative amounts to be auctioned on April 24.

TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
U.S. investment company KKR's KKR.N proposed buyout of TIM's fixed-line access network will be decided by EU antitrust regulators by May 30, according to a European Commission filing on Friday.
TIM valued its submarine cable business Sparkle at 481 million euros as of Dec. 31, 2023, following an impairment of 107 million euros booked during the year, according to documents published on the telecoms group website.

Italy's top insurer said on Saturday it would unveil its strategic plan for 2025-2027 on January 30.
DAVIDE CAMPARI CPRI.MI
The Italian drinks group continues to look for M&A opportunities in high-end and premium spirits and strong brands in the U.S. and Asia, CEO Matteo Fantacchiotti told Milano Finanza on Saturday. Campari is also looking at the whisky segment, the CEO added.
IVECO IVG.MI
The bus and truck maker said on Sunday that its Chief Executive Officer Gerrit Marx was leaving the group to become CEO of Italian-American company CNH Industrial CNHI.N from July 1. Marx will be replaced by Olof Persson.

Nigeria plans to acquire 24 fighter jets from the Italian defence group to modernize its fleet and bolster its air force, air force spokesperson Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet said on Friday.
JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
A late own goal by defender Alberto Dossena salvaged a 2-2 draw for Juventus at lowly Cagliari in Serie A on Friday after the hosts went two goals up in the first half thanks to penalties.

Eight stocks included in Italy's blue-chip index trades ex-dividend on Monday, resulting in a drop in the index of around 1.5%, FTSE Russell said on Friday.

The president of the Italian football club, Steven Zhang, is in talks with U.S. bond giant PIMCO over a loan of 400 million euros to repay a 275-million-euro financing backstop by Oaktree Capital Management, Corriere della Sera reported on Sunday.
