BUDAPEST, Aug 21 (Reuters) -Hungary's forint and the Polish zloty weakened slightly on Wednesday as investors analysed a flurry of Polish economic data, with the Czech crown hitting a monthly high.

Investors were eyeing Polish unemployment, wages and industrial output data after the president of the National Bank of Poland said earlier this week that the bank might adjust its monetary policy based on its assessment of the macroeconomic outlook.

"It cannot be ruled out that the economic situation will develop in such a direction that a discussion on adjusting monetary policy will be justified prior to 2026," Adam Glapinski said.

His words came after a statement last month in which he said there would be no rate cuts before 2026 because of an expected acceleration in inflation.

The Polish zloty EURPLN= was little moved by the data, trading at 4.28 to the euro at 0805 GMT.

"The złoty remains calm, moving around the level of 4.28 per EUR ... The rest of the week, which will be characterized by a greater number of foreign data publications, may bring greater volatility," Bank Millennium said in a note.

The forint EURHUF=, which hit a 3-week high to the euro on Tuesday, traded slightly weaker on Wednesday, at 393.4, 0.1% lower to the common currency.

"Emerging market currencies are mainly moved today by the eurodollar exchange rate," a local Fx trader said.

"If the dollar continues to weaken than that will support the forint, however, if it reverses course, that will hurt it. I expect range-bound trading with low volatility."

The Czech crown EURCZK= was the only gainer in the region, trading at 25.11, up by 0.2% since local markets' closed, firming to a monthly high.

Markets were also in a wait-and-see mode, according to analysts, ahead of the annual Jackson Hole conference starting on Thursday, where Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is expected to deliver a speech on Friday, providing guidance for rate-cut expectations.
