Turkey - Factors To Watch on Oct 4
ISTANBUL, Oct 4 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.2350 against the U.S. dollar at 0358 GMT, weakening from a close of 34.1440 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 2.53% lower at 8,898.23 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks retreated on Friday while oil prices headed for their sharpest weekly gain in more than a year, as escalating tensions in the Middle East kept markets on edge ahead of a U.S. jobs report later in the day.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will make a speech at the Teknofest aerospace and technology festival being held at the airport in the southern Turkish city of Adana. (1330 GMT)
SEASONALLY ADJUSTED CPI DATA
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) will announce seasonally adjusted consumer price index (CPI) data for September. (1300 GMT)
INFLATION DEVELOPMENTS
The central bank releases its price developments report for September after TUIK data showed annual inflation fell to 49.38% and the monthly rate was much higher than forecast at nearly 3%, setting the stage for later than expected rate cuts. (1500 GMT)
REAL EFFECTIVE EXCHANGE RATE
The central bank will announce the real effective exchange rate for September. (1130 GMT)
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend a digital economy consultation meeting in Istanbul organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK). (0700 GMT)
MAIN OPPOSITION LEADER
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) will attend opening ceremonies in the Istanbul district of Cekmekoy. (0800 GMT)
URBANISATION MINISTER
Environment and Urbanisation Minister Murat Kurum will make a press statement at an Emlak Konut construction site in the southeastern province of Adiyaman. (1230 GMT)
