CBOT Trends-Wheat up 1-2 cents, corn down 1-3 cents, soy down 1-5 cents
CHICAGO, July 18 (Reuters) -Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) at 8:30 a.m. CDT (1330 GMT) on Thursday.
WHEAT - Up 1 to 2 cents per bushel
* CBOT wheat Wv1 up slightly on increased global demand from importers, including recent tenders from Algeria and Egypt.
* The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported 2024-25 export sales of U.S. wheat in the week ended July 11 at 578,500 metric tons, compared to analyst estimates for 225,000 to 600,000 tons.
* Germany's 2024 wheat crop will fall 6.2% on the year, the country's association of farm cooperatives said.
* CBOT September soft red winter wheat WU24 was last up 3/4 cent at $5.40 per bushel. K.C. September hard red winter wheat KWU24 was last up 1/4 cent at $5.61-1/4 per bushel. MGEX September spring wheat MWEU24 was up 7 cents at $5.98-3/4 per bushel.
CORN - Down 1 to 3 cents per bushel
* CBOT corn down on pressure from non-threatening crop weather forecasted for the U.S. Midwest and hefty global supplies.
* USDA reported weekly old-crop U.S. corn export sales of 437,800 metric tons, below analyst estimates for 500,000 to 800,000 tons. Weekly new-crop sales of 485,700 metric tons topped estimates for 25,000 to 400,000 tons.
* CBOT September corn CU24 was last down 2-1/4 cents at $3.95-3/4 per bushel, and new-crop December corn CZ24 was last down 2 cents at $4.09-3/4 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Down 1 to 5 cents per bushel
* Most-active soybeans Sv1 hit their lowest level in nearly four years under pressure from favorable crop weather in the U.S. Midwest. Futures also hit contract lows.
* USDA, in a daily reporting system, said exporters sold 510,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to unknown buyers for 2024-25 delivery and 150,000 tons of U.S. soymeal to unknown buyers for 2024-25.
* USDA reported weekly export sales of U.S. old-crop soybeans at 360,100 metric tons, within analyst estimates for 150,000 to 600,000 tons. Weekly new-crop sales of 375,000 tons were also within expectations.
* CBOT August soybeans SQ24 were last down 1-1/4 cents at $10.96 per bushel, while November soybeans SX24 were last down 4-1/2 cents at $10.36-1/2 per bushel after hitting a contract low.
