US Cash Grains-Soy, corn basis mostly steady in slow trade
CHICAGO, June 20 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mostly steady in the U.S. Midwest on Thursday while Chicago Board of Trade futures slid and a lingering heat wave depressed cash trade.
* The corn basis softened by 2 cents at an Indiana ethanol facility.
* The basis for soft red winter wheat firmed by 5 cents at a Toledo, Ohio, elevator.
* Concerns around a heat wave across the U.S. Corn Belt are being alleviated by widespread rains. However, traders continue to anticipate a hot summer that could stress crops, an analyst note said.
* Hefty global supplies of corn and soy, as well as an improved forecast for Russian wheat production, weighed on U.S. markets. GRA/
* At mid-session on the CBOT, July soybean futures SN24 were down 12 cents at $11.62 per bushel and July corn CN24 was down 7-1/4 cents at $4.42-1/4 a bushel.
