ANKARA, Aug 2 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 33.1820 against the U.S. dollar at 0432 GMT, after closing at 33.10 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.5% higher at 10,798.09 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares and U.S. Treasury yields slid while the Swiss franc and yen rose on safety bids on Friday after weaker-than-expected U.S. factory data sparked fears of a worsening economic outlook.
HAMAS CHIEF'S FUNERAL
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will be in Doha to attend the funeral of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau who was killed in Tehran this week. Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will also attend the funeral.
DAY OF NATIONAL MOURNING
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday declared Friday, Aug 2, a day of national mourning over the killing of the head of Hamas' political bureau Ismail Haniyeh.
TRADE MINISTER
Trade Minister Omer Bolat will hold a news conference in the central province of Kayseri and announce foreign trade figures for July. (0700 GMT)
MAIN OPPOSITION
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will visit the Black Sea provinces of Ordu and Giresun.
PRISONER SWAP
Russia freed U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich and ex-U.S. Marine Paul Whelan on Thursday as part of the biggest prisoner exchange of its kind since the end of the Cold War.
ERDOGAN-BIDEN CALL
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan told U.S. counterpart Joe Biden in a call on Thursday that Israel was trying to spread the Gaza war to the wider region and did not want a ceasefire, his office said, adding that Biden thanked Erdogan for efforts regarding an East-West prisoner swap in Ankara.
NATO-ISRAEL
Turkey has blocked cooperation between NATO and Israel since October because of the war in Gaza and said the alliance should not engage with Israel as a partner until there is an end to the conflict, sources familiar with the process said.
OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan told Pope Francis in a call on Thursday that the "immoral" Olympics opening ceremony had made a mockery of sacred values and called for a common stand to be taken against it, his office said.
UKRAINE FREE TRADE AGREEMENT
Ukrainian Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held talks in Turkey, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation with Ankara and discussing the ratification of a free trade agreement, Svyrydenko said on Thursday.
CENBANK AUCTIONS
Turkish central bank announced that it would open additional intraday lira depo auctions on necessary days, according to a document sent to banks seen by Reuters on Thursday.
JAILED LAWMAKER RULING
Parliament's decision to strip a jailed opposition lawmaker of his seat is "null and void", Turkey's Constitutional Court has ruled, prompting calls by his lawyer and the opposition for his release and return to the assembly.
