NY coffee may fall towards $1.8785-$2.0175 range in Q3

SINGAPORE, June 28 (Reuters) -New York coffee KCc2 may test support at $2.1560 per lb in the third quarter, with a good chance of breaking below this level and falling towards $1.8785-$2.0175 range.
The nature of the strong rise from $1.43 looks unclear. The rise could be a part of the big correction from $2.6045 which adopted a three-wave mode, or a continuation of the uptrend from the May 2019 low of $0.8760.
A retracement analysis on the fall from $2.6045 reveals that market briefly pierced above the 86.4% level of $2.4450. Such a move favours the bullish scenario, as it is hard for the downtrend from $2.6045 to resume.
A wave count on a much longer term monthly chart suggests a continuation of the uptrend from the December 2001 low of $0.4475.
The part of the trend from $0.8760 is supposed to be riding on a wave C which could eventually travel to $3.5175. Among all these bullish readings, there is a bearish indication.
Market is facing strong resistance at $2.5085. It is expected to start a correction which may be much shallower than the first correction from the February 2022 high of $2.6045. On the daily chart, coffee failed twice to break resistance at $2.3785.
The failure strongly suggests the completion of a wave b. A break below $2.1595 is needed to confirm the completion. As long as the contract hovers above $2.2150, it is likely to make its last attempt to approach $2.3785, as one of the possible top patterns would be a small triangle.
A break above $2.3055 would suggest the formation of this pattern. A further gain above $2.3785 could confirm the continuation of the uptrend towards $2.6045.
