** The Friedkin Group is in exclusive talks to buy Everton, the Premier League soccer club said, weeks after a takeover agreement with prospective owner 777 Partners expired. nL1N3IJ0GH
** Credit card giant American Express AXP.N said it would buy Squarespace-owned SQSP.N restaurant booking platform Tock for $400 million in cash. nL4N3IJ0WZ
** U.S. private equity firm Carlyle Group CG.O is pushing ahead with the sale of Italian fashion brand Twinset, asking potential bidders to submit non-binding offers, two sources close to the matter said. nL8N3II08V
** Britain's Crimson Tide CTID.L said it was considering a 20.5 million pound ($25.9 million) conditional takeover proposal from Ideagen after the software firm rejected a revised offer from rival Checkit CKT.L. nL4N3IJ0VC
** Boeing BA.N is nearing a deal to buy back Spirit AeroSystems SPR.N after its former subsidiary made substantial progress in separate talks with Airbus AIR.PA over a transatlantic breakup of the struggling supplier, people familiar with the matter said on Thursday. nL1N3II137
** Dutch bank ABN Amro ABNd.AS is seeking to further expand in Germany as it is nearing a deal to acquire HSBC's HSBA.L wealth management unit in the country, newspaper Boersenzeitung reported , without specifying its sources. nL8N3IJ0F0
** British soft drinks maker Britvic BVIC.L has rejected a 3.11 billion pound ($3.93 billion) takeover proposal from Carlsberg Group CARLb.CO, the companies said, the second approach from the Danish brewer it has turned down. nL4N3IJ0I6
** Real estate company Covivio CVO.PA has signed a preliminary agreement finalising terms on a proposed asset-swap deal with AccorInvest, it said . nL1N3IJ060

** Shares of Western Securities 002673.SZ jumped more than 6% in early trading after the Chinese brokerage said it was studying plans to acquire rival Guorong Securities. nP8N3CG02K
** U.S. casino operator Boyd Gaming BYD.N has approached Penn Entertainment PENN.O to express interest in acquiring its peer that has a market value of more than $9 billion, including debt, according to people familiar with the matter. nL1N3II0YG
