POLITICS
The Italian government approved an economic package on Tuesday focused on temporary tax breaks for firms that hire staff on open-ended contracts and a cash bonus of up to 100 euros for low earners.
Roberto Vannacci, an Italian army general who sparked outrage with a book disparaging LGBT people, migrants, minorities and feminists, and EU election candidate with the far-right League party, on Tuesday said woke policies and cancel culture had made Europeans ashamed of their roots.

The group's DRS DRS.O unit reported first quarter revenues of $688 million on Wednesday, up 21% year-on-year, while net earnings more than doubled to $29 million.

A proposal from the top investor in ProSiebenSat.1 PSMGn.DE to split off the German media group's e-commerce and online dating ventures from its TV operations narrowly failed to get the required shareholder backing on Tuesday.

The eyewear group said on Thursday it signed a perpetual license agreement with Authentic Brands Group, to oversee the entire value chain - including design, production and distribution - for David Beckham Eyewear. The deal substitutes the previous contract expiring at the end of 2030.
