Sept 17 (Reuters) -The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1930 GMT on Tuesday:
** The U.S. Transportation Department said it had agreed to allow Alaska Airlines ALK.N to close on its $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines HA.O, after the carriers agreed to maintain key Hawaiian routes and adopt consumer protections. nL1N3KZ0V5
** Italian spirits group Campari CPRI.MI said on Tuesday it had bought a 14.6% stake in South Africa's Capevin Holdings Proprietary Limited, which fully owns whisky maker CVH Spirits, for £69.6 million. nL8N3KZ142
** U.S. Steel X.N CEO David Burritt said he was confident Nippon Steel's 5401.T $14.9 billion bid for his company would "close on its merits," despite political opposition and concerns raised in a national security review. nL1N3KZ0SH
** Marlboro maker Philip Morris International's PM.N unit Vectura Fertin Pharma said it would sell its subsidiary Vectura Group to Molex Asia Holdings for 150 million pounds ($198.09 million). nL4N3KZ0SX
** Britain's Guardian Media Group (GMG) is in exclusive talks to sell The Observer, the world's oldest Sunday newspaper, to startup Tortoise Media, the companies said. nL8N3KZ0RS
** UniCredit CRDI.MI will seek ECB clearance to potentially buy up to 30% of Commerzbank CBKG.DE, three people close to the matter said, in order to have the "flexibility" the Italian bank's CEO Andrea Orcel said he needs to plan his next move. nL1N3KZ0C8
** U.S. utility firm AES Corp AES.N said it would sell a 30% indirect equity interest in its Ohio subsidiary to Canada's second-largest pension fund CDPQ for $546 million, which will be used to support infrastructure investments. nL4N3KZ0MJ
** Flutter Entertainment FLTRF.L said it would buy Snaitech for 2.3 billion euros ($2.6 billion) including debt from gambling technology group Playtech PTEC.L, cementing its position as the leading gambling firm in Italy. nL4N3KZ0AT
** German broadcaster RTL BTGG.F and Paramount PARA.O have withdrawn their bid to merge Super RTL, a children's television network, with Nickelodeon, the German cartel office said. nL8N3KZ0G6
** Spanish bank BBVA BBVA.MC has no intention of increasing its offer for smaller rival Sabadell SABE.MC, Chairman Carlos Torres said. nL1N3KZ071
** Turk Telekom's chief executive Umit Onal said , in response to a question, that a merger by Turkey Wealth Fund of its stake in his telecommunication company and that of Turkcell is not on the agenda. nI7N3JG00Y
** London-based investment fund Davide Leone and Partners (DL&P) said on Monday it had bought Telecom Italia TLITn.MI savings shares and currently owned one tenth of the total. nL8N3KZ040
