U.S. STOCKS TICK UP AHEAD OF THE MINUTES

Wall Street's main indexes are slightly higher early on Wednesday as investors await the minutes of the Federal Reserve's most recent policy meeting at 2 pm ET for more clues on the interest-rate path.

Trading has been choppy this week, with investors seeking new catalysts for a clearer market direction. Key inflation data on Thursday and the upcoming third-quarter corporate earnings season are now in focus.

A majority of S&P 500 .SPX sectors are higher with industrials .SPLRCI posting the biggest rise. Communication services .SPLRCL off about 1.5% is taking the biggest hit. This with Alphabet GOOGL.O down nearly 2% after the U.S. Department of Justice said it may ask a judge to force Google to divest parts of its business.

Of note, although early in the session, the industrials sector .SPLRCI, and the S&P 100 index .OEX are both on track to post record closing highs.
