SEOUL, Aug 28 (Reuters) -Round-up of South Korean financial markets:

** South Korean shares fell on Wednesday, following a sluggish day on Wall Street on caution ahead of earnings release by the world's most influential stock, Nvidia Corp. The won weakened, while the benchmark bond yield fell.

** The benchmark KOSPI .KS11 fell 12.88 points, or 0.48%, to 2,676.37 by 01:56 GMT.

** Among index heavyweights, chipmaker Samsung Electronics 005930.KS fell 0.26% and peer SK Hynix 000660.KS lost 0.11%, while battery maker LG Energy Solution 373220.KS slid 0.80%.

** Hyundai Motor 005380.KS was flat and sister automaker Kia Corp 000270.KS gained 0.10%, while search engine Naver 035420.KS and instant messenger Kakao 035720.KS were down 2.08% and down 1.32%, respectively.


** The S&P 500 and Nasdaq finished lower on Monday, with AI heavyweight Nvidia dipping ahead of its quarterly report this week, while investors awaited inflation data for clues about the path of interest-rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

** Of the total 937 traded issues, 276 shares advanced, while 596 declined.

** Foreigners were net sellers of shares worth 183.2 billion won ($137.17 million).

** The won was quoted at 1,333.0 per dollar on the onshore settlement platform KRW=KFTC, 0.15% lower than its previous close at 1,331.0.

** In offshore trading, the won KRW= was quoted at 1,336.4 per dollar, down 0.8% on the day, while in non-deliverable forward trading its one-month contract KRW1MNDFOR= was quoted at 1,332.6.

** The KOSPI has risen 0.79% so far this year, but lost 6.0% in the previous 30 trading sessions.

** The won has lost 3.4% against the dollar so far this year. ** In money and debt markets, September futures on three-year treasury bonds KTBc1 fell 0.01 point to 105.84.

** The most liquid three-year Korean treasury bond yield fell by 1.5 basis points to 2.935%, while the benchmark 10-year yield fell by 0.2 basis points to 3.072%.
