** Travelers Cos TRV.N shares were up 0.8% in afternoon trading Wed ahead of the insurer's quarterly results due before the opening bell Thurs
** Co expected to report Q3 rev of $11.49 bln vs $10.49 bln in the yr-ago qtr; while it is expected to report EPS for the qtr of $3.64 vs $1.95 a yr ago, according to LSEG.
** Analyst recommendations on the stock include eight "strong buy" or "buy" ratings, 15 "hold" ratings and four "sell" or "strong sell," per LSEG
** The median 12-mo price target is $238.00. The stock was last at $242.76.
** U.S. property and casualty insurance shares fell on Oct. 7 amid worries about Hurricane Milton. Investors will be curious to find out the extent to which the active Atlantic hurricane season might hurt earnings
** Including the session move, TRV is up about 26% YTD compared with a roughly 14% gain in the Dow Jones industrial average .DJI in that period
