ECONOMY

ISTAT releases unemployment rate data (0800 GMT).


POLITICS

On Tuesday evening, Italy's Cabinet held a special meeting dedicated to the Middle East crisis. In a statement the government said it was committed to ensuring the safety of Italian citizens and the soldiers of the UNIFIL contingent. To this end, a standing committee was convened to oversee the situation and implement appropriate measures in a prompt and effective manner.


DEBT

Italy posted a state sector budget deficit of 24 billion euros ($26.54 billion) in September compared to a shortfall of 25.26 billion euros in the same month last year, the Treasury said in a statement on Tuesday.


COMPANIES

UNICREDIT CRDI.MI

(*) Rating agency Moody's has affirmed the lender senior preferred (unsecured) debt and long-term deposit ratings at Baa1, with a stable outlook, the bank said on Wednesday.

In the event of UniCredit acquiring Commerzbank CBKG.DE, the agency will consider the potential upgrade for the bank's stand-alone rating, currently at baa3, to baa2, one notch above Italy’s sovereign rating.

The bank has built a "federal model" as a pan-European bank with subsidiaries in each of its 13 markets that can act locally, CEO Andrea Orcel said on Tuesday, as he called on Europe to promote financial integration.



STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

The French-Italian carmaker's sales fell by 10.75% year-on-year in Italy in September, the Transport Ministry said on Tuesday.

Stellantis held 24.11% share of the country's car market last month, according to Reuters calculation.

The U.S. Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday that owners of 154,000 Jeep plug-in hybrid electric SUVs should park outside and away from buildings or othervehicles until they get recall repairs completed.

Jeep-parent Stellantis on Monday said it was recalling 194,000 Jeep Wranger and Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids worldwide -- including 154,00 in the United States -- after reports of 13 fires.

The premium brakemaker said on Wednesday it had completed for 282.9 million euros ($312.89 million), 5.07 euros per share, the sale of its entire stake in tyre maker Pirelli.


ENI ENI.MI

Guyana on Tuesday received bids from major energy companies seeking a 12-month marketing contract to trade the government's share of crude produced in the country, the country's National Procurement and Tender Administration Board said.

A total of 27 offers were received, the board said, including bids by Eni, Shell SHEL.L, TotalEnergies TTEF.PA, Chevron CVX.N, PetroChina 601857.SS, CNOOC 0883.HK.

Eight insurance companies are interested in distributing their products through the bank's branches, MF daily wrote on Wednesday, adding that non binding offers for the life insurance partnership are expected in mid-October. The suitors are France's Cnp, Groupama and Cardif, Helvetia, Reale Mutua, Athora, Sara Assicurazioni and Germany's Allianz.
