Turkey - Factors To Watch on Oct 10
ANKARA, Oct 10 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.2730 against the U.S. dollar at 0416 GMT, compared with a close of 34.2330 on Wednesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.97% higher at 9,132.30 points on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks got a lift on Thursday from Chinese stocks as China's central bank kicked off its 500 billion yuan facility to spur capital markets, while the dollar lingered near a two-month high ahead of U.S. inflation data later in the day.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan will meet Albanian counterpart Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama during his visit to Tirana.
FINANCE MINISTER
Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek will attend a meeting with investors in Kuwait and will hold separate talks with Kuwait's economic affairs and investments minister Noora Suleiman Al-Fassam and managing director of the Kuwait Investment Authority Ghanem Suleiman Al-Ghenaiman.
UNEMPLOYMENT TRUR=ECI
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce the unemployment rate for August (0700 GMT).
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION TRIP=ECI
The Turkish Statistical Institute will also release industrial output data for August (0700 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK DATA TRNFR=ECI
The central bank will release its weekly data, including on forex reserves (1130 GMT).
LEBANON EVACUATION
Nearly 2,000 Turkish citizens and family members left Beirut on two Turkish navy landing ships on Wednesday, evacuating from Lebanon over fears for their safety as Israel expanded its operations against Hezbollah militants. The navy ships are expected to arrive Mersin port on Thursday.
