Clarifies under NATO Summit that Erdogan and Orban have already met
ISTANBUL, July 10 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 32.8540 against the U.S. dollar at 0408 GMT, after closing at 32.8700 on Tuesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.62% lower at 10,796.57 points on Tuesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks hovered near two-year highs on Wednesday on growing bets of imminent U.S. rate cuts, while the New Zealand dollar slid after its central bank signalled greater confidence that inflation was coming to heel.
NATO SUMMIT
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will attend the NATO summit in Washington. Erdogan is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, after earlier meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will attend an opening ceremony at Turkey's Middle East Technical University (ODTU). (0800 GMT)
OPPOSITION
Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Ozgur Ozel will visit Sarajevo.
ENERGY MINISTER
Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar will attend the World Bank's energy transition workshop in Ankara. (0630 GMT)
PARLIAMENT MEETINGS
Right-wing IYI Party (0730 GMT) and Islamist Saadet (Felicity) Party (0615 GMT) will hold parliamentary group meetings.
FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Parliament's foreign affairs committee will discuss two bills signed between Turkey-Qatar and Turkey-UN. (1100 GMT)
BUDGET COMMISSION
Parliament's planning and budget commission will have discussions on the austerity bill. (0700 GMT)
UNEMPLOYMENT DATA
The Turkish Statistics Institute will release unemployment data. (0700 GMT)
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION DATA
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce industrial production data. (0700 GMT)
