ENERGY
Italy's solar power capacity rose by 1.7 gigawatts (GW) in the first quarter to 32 GW thanks to a jump in the development of large projects, the country's association for the photovoltaic sector said on Monday.
DEBT
The Treasury said on Monday it will sell up to 9.5 billion euros in bonds at a May 30 auction.
Treasury sells 2.25-2.75 billion euros 3.20% BTP Short due Jan. 28, 2026; 1.5-1.75 billion euros zero coupon BTP bonds due Dec. 15, 2024; 1-0-1.5 billion euros 0.10% BTPei bonds due May 15, 2033. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

AMAZON AMZN.O
The company's computing unit AWS is in talks with Italy to invest billions of euros in the expansion of its data centre business in the country as part of the tech giant's effort to boost its cloud offer in Europe, according to a Reuters exclusive.
INTESA SANPAOLO ISP.MI
Italy's biggest bank announced on Monday the start of a buyback plan worth up to 1.7 billion euros on June 3, following the green light from the ECB on March 11.

The home appliance maker, due to hold a Capital Markets Day presentation, said late on Monday it expects an increase in turnover for the three-year period 2024-2026 with a CAGR at constant exchange rates of 7-9%.

Italian bank Credito Emiliano might enter into exclusive negotiations with Nexi or the French Worldline WLN.PA for a deal in the payments sector, according to financial daily Milano Finanza. It added that Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata BPPUGL.HT could also reach a deal with Nexi.

The automaker said on Monday it would build a hybrid version of its Fiat 500e small electric car at its Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy, amid a slowdown in electric car sales.

The private banking arm of the Italian bank said it would start offering its wealthier clients a new, illiquid open-ended alternative fund set up by investment firm KKR KKR.N.
DOVALUE DOVA.MI
Italy's biggest bad loans company is close to a deal with a pool of banks for about 450 million euros in credit facilities, to fund the acquisition of rival Gardant, Bloomberg reported on Monday.

The Bank of Italy left the regional bank's SREP capital requirements unchanged from 2023, leaving the CET1 ratio at 7.6%.
