ECONOMY
The Italian economy is holding up well and is on track to reach the government's growth target of 1% this year, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Tuesday.
ISTAT releases May industrial output data (0800 GMT) and monthly bulletin on the state of the economy in May and June (0900 GMT).
DEBT
Treasury sells 8.0 billion euros 12-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.
COMPANIES
TELECOM ITALIA TLIT.MI
S&P Global on Tuesday upgraded the rating of the former phone monopoly to BB from B+, following the sale of its fixed-line network to U.S. investment firm KKR KKR.N last week. The agency removed all ratings from CreditWatch positive, indicating a stable outlook.

The Italian defence and aerospace group is a front runner together with U.S' group Bell to win the tender launched in February to supply NATO with a new generation NGRC helicopter, Il Sole 24 Ore daily reported on Wednesday.

The Italian insurer Unipol, with the help of Barclays and other investment banks, is trying to indirectly increase its stake in the lenders Popolare di Sondrio and Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Il Messaggero daily reported on Wednesday. The newspaper said in its report that Unipol had denied it was conducting this operation on Sondrio.

The Italian aerospace company said on Wednesday that the Ariane 6 rocket launcher had successfully completed its maiden flight from the French Guiana Space Centre. Avio is a partner of the Ariane 6 program, providing the solid rocket boosters as well as engines.

JP Morgan on Wednesday resumed coverage of the Italian cable maker with a target price of 71 euros and an overweight rating.

Barclays on Wednesday cut its rating of the Italian engineering company to equal weight from overweight, and raised the target price to 9.5 euros from 8.3.
