POLITICS
Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni asked Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to avoid escalation in the Middle East during a call, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases July CPI final data (0800 GMT) and June foreign trade data (0900 GMT).
Bank of Italy releases June data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.
DEBT
Treasury sells 7.5 billion euros ($8.18 billion) 12-month BOT bills. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

Rheinmetall RHMG.DE expects orders worth up to 25 billion euros from the Italian government for its joint tank-building venture with defence manufacturer Leonardo, the German defence group's CEO said on Thursday.
UNIEURO UNIR.MI
French retailer Fnac Darty FNAC.PA said on Thursday it had obtained from its lending banks the waivers required to go ahead with its bid for the Italian consumer electronics distributor.
