The Times
- British insurer Phoenix Group PHNX.L and fund firm Schroders SDR.L have agreed to launch a private markets investment firm, with the aim of investing up to 20 billion pounds ($25.71 billion) into unlisted assets over the next decade.
- The Bank of England is on the verge of cutting interest rates for the first time in more than four years from a 16-year high of 5.25%.

- Boeing BA.N has named the aerospace industry veteran Robert "Kelly" Ortberg as its new president and CEO as the struggling planemaker fights to repair its reputation and shore up its business.
- UK's second-biggest housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has welcomed Labour's planning proposals as an "important early step" to delivering more homes across England, as its half-year profits fell by nearly 60%.

- The private equity owners of Britain's biggest pub operator Stonegate have pumped 250 million pounds into the company to avoid defaults on its 3 billion pound debt pile.
- Thames Water suffered a fresh blow after its debt rating was cut to "junk" status by another major ratings agency, S&P Global, raising the prospect of a government bailout.

- Amir Orad, a former boss of Nasdaq-listed NICE Actimize, is to become the first standalone chief executive of Kraken Technologies, the Octopus Energy subsidiary said to be worth billions of pounds.
