XM does not provide services to residents of the United States of America.
XM’s humanitarian work continues with our next mission to Uganda and helping the children of the Young Comrades Primary School located in the Wakiso district.
Building a brighter world is one of the main pillars of our corporate social responsibility actions. Education is the key to unlock peoples’ potential and it is also the bedrock of social and economic development for all countries worldwide. Therefore, we believe that everyone should have access to all forms of education.
Over 400 children wake up each day at the orphanage, which is run by Father Antonios Mutyaba, a local priest who dedicates himself to the well-being of the children to help them finish high-school. As well as providing 3 meals a day, the orphans attend school on-site, along with 500 local children, making resources limited as the orphanage grows. Moreover, a technical school has been established so that the older pupils can attain skills that enable them to prosper in a career of their local industries.
Local income is being sourced through projects such as building a partnership with a local coffee export company to teach farmers how to produce high quality coffee of more value. However, this is simply not enough to provide students with the amenities that they need for a good-quality education.
What is XM’s Role in This?
XM have donated a substantial amount to construct a new classroom block as storms unfortunately destroyed one of their previous buildings. We understand that it will take a lot of hard work and consistency to help change the lives of the local children, but this is something that we are not afraid of. Working together to help shape the lives of our future generations is what we consider as our main mission.
