Technical Analysis – GER 30 Index pullback looks to test positive picture

Posted on February 7, 2020 at 11:00 am GMT

Germany 30 Index (Cash) is pushing under the 13,519 level, following a deflection off the 13,604 resistance from January 24. The candles reflect sellers’ efforts for a down move, something also suggested within the short-term oscillators, where negative momentum appears to be picking up. The MACD, deep in the positive region, has slipped below its red trigger line, while the RSI declines lower in bullish territory following an exit from the overbought zone. The Stochastic lines have reached the 20 [..]

Technical Analysis – US 30 index extends bullish pressure; all-time high at 29,528

Posted on February 6, 2020 at 1:49 pm GMT

The US 30 index is looking strongly bullish after surging above its daily moving averages (MA) on Monday. Prices hit a record high of 29,528 earlier today and the technical indicators are all pointing to further positive momentum in the near term. The stochastics are heading upwards, but the D% line has yet to cross above 80, suggesting plenty of scope for additional upside moves. The RSI has crossed into bullish territory but has yet to approach the 70 overbought [..]

Technical Analysis – JP 225 index looks for some extra gains in short-term

Posted on February 5, 2020 at 2:22 pm GMT

Japan’s 225 stock index staged an impressive rally earlier on Wednesday to cross above the Ichimoku cloud and close on top of the 200-period simple moving average (SMA) on the four-hour chart. Technically, there is still some room for improvement as the Stochastics are reversing north again within the overbought area at a time when the RSI keeps rising to reach its 70 overbought mark. The 23,700 level seems like a hurdle for the bulls at the moment but if it soon falls [..]

Technical Analysis – US 500 index flirts with record high; more gains expected

Posted on February 5, 2020 at 11:10 am GMT

The US 500 index has advanced considerably – as it found a strong support at the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) – and is heading towards the all-time high of 3,337.64. Looking at momentum indicators, the RSI is sloping up slightly above its neutral threshold of 50, suggesting that the market could keep rising in the near term. The rising MACD also supports this view, currently in the positive territory attempting to embrace its red signal line. A further move to the [..]

Technical Analysis – UK 100 index plunges in long-term trading range

Posted on February 3, 2020 at 10:40 am GMT

The UK 100 index has been developing within a one-year consolidation area with upper boundary the 7,690 resistance level and lower boundary the 7,020 support. In the latest move, the price tumbled to a fresh three-week low of 7,230.94 on Friday but the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level of the upward movement from 6,470 to 7,730 helped it to recover a bit on Monday. In technical indicators, the stochastic oscillator is still pointing to the 20 oversold mark, while the MACD continues to [..]

Technical Analysis – Dollar Index futures pull back in downward sloping channel

Posted on January 31, 2020 at 10:22 am GMT

The US dollar index bounced off the upper boundary of the downward sloping channel at the 98.00 psychological level and fell towards the 100-simple moving average (SMA). The price is exposing to downside risks and the first clue is the lower highs and the lower lows registered below the 28-month peak of 99.30. In terms of momentum, the short-term bias is currently viewed as neutral-to-negative as the MACD is flattening above its zero line and the stochastic is moving lower [..]

Technical Analysis – CHI 50 index dives below 200-day SMA; bearish mood to persist

Posted on January 27, 2020 at 10:34 am GMT

China’s 50 stock index (CHI50) opened with a gap down on Monday and below the 200-day simple moving average (SMA) after posting its sharpest weekly loss in almost a year. The bears are currently pushing efforts to close below the 38.2% Fibonacci of the upleg from 10,197 to 14,678 and although the RSI and the Stochastics are flashing oversold conditions, the short-term indicators are still pointing downwards along with the MACD, all providing negative warnings for the coming sessions. Yet, room [..]

Technical Analysis – US 30 Index consolidates; remains cautiously positive

Posted on January 22, 2020 at 2:33 pm GMT

The Wall Street 30 stock index’s (cash) positive directional momentum appears to have weakened as it has eased slightly from the new all-time-high of 29,401. The index looks to be a bit flat – something also backed by the Ichimoku lines. Moreover, the short-term oscillators reflect a stall in the positive move, with the MACD declining below its red trigger line in the positive zone, and the RSI falling in bullish territory below its latest trendline. That said, the upward [..]

Technical Analysis – Dollar index futures may lengthen bearish trend

Posted on January 22, 2020 at 11:12 am GMT

US dollar index futures are exposed to downside risks as regards the market trend. The first clue is the lower high and the lower lows registered below the 2 ½-year peak of 99.30 and second is the death cross created between the 50- and 200-day simple moving averages (SMA) after more than a year – if sustained. In terms of momentum, the short-term bias is currently viewed as neutral-to-positive as the RSI is moving sideways above its 50 neutral mark and the MACD [..]

Technical Analysis – UK 100 stock index retreats below MAs; losses halted by Ichimoku cloud

Posted on January 21, 2020 at 2:53 pm GMT

UK 100 Stock Index (cash) retraced from the five-month high of 7,689 below the simple moving averages (SMAs) on the four-hour chart but further losses were restricted by the Ichimoku cloud’s lower boundary at 7,557. The short-term oscillators reflect mixed signals in momentum. The MACD sponsors negative momentum as it is below its red trigger line and has just slipped below the zero mark, whereas, the RSI is rising after reversing ahead of the 30 oversold level, promoting a pickup [..]
