XM does not provide services to residents of the United States of America.
This December, XM and the Peruvian charity Nietos Itinerantes organised a bingo game for seniors in need living at the San Miguel Residential Care Centre in Lima, while also donating vital medical supplies. The facility belongs to the National Comprehensive Program for Family Well-being (INABIF).
Longer life expectancy is a cause for celebration, but it also brings new challenges, especially for lower-income people. The San Miguel Residential Care Centre provides elders in need with accommodation, nutrition, medical help, assistance, leisure activities, and more. To support its residents, we donated medical supplies including first aid products and useful items for those who struggle with mobility.
During the bingo game, residents were able to socialise and have some much-needed fun. Older people’s worlds tend to get smaller as health issues build up, and for disadvantaged seniors, it’s often tough to break the cycle of loneliness. Free activities and events make vital social connections more accessible and bring joy back into their lives.
For many people, ageing leads to an inevitable decline in their quality of life. But it does not have to be that way. We are proud to work with charities like Nietos Itinerantes, helping elders around the world socialise, stay healthy, and get the help they need.
